Information Technology
This computing course is designed to give students of all ages an introduction
to computing. Teaching both the practical and theoretical aspects of Information
Technology, the course uses Visual Basic, a widely used programming language
for the PC. This course is run at 3 levels.
French Language
This course is designed to introduce students to the French Language and/or
expand their reading and writing skills when using the language. The student
will be introduced to French through listening and repeating basic language
and thus developing conversational skills. The small groups are intended to
be informal and fun so that the student becomes self-motivated whilst being
fully supported. Run at three levels.
Mathematics
Run at three levels : Level 1 provides support on primary level Mathematics,
Level 2 aims to introduce the student to some of the requirements of a Mathematics
GCSE course and Level 3 aims at skills required for the Higher GCSE paper which
covers grades A* to C. Basic numeracy is required, but the ability to understand
a method of solving a problem and apply that method consistently and accurately
is what is being looked for in the above three levels.
English Language
This course is suitable for all students, from those seeking extra help in their
school work to those who have advanced beyond their current school level. For
students who are performing at level 3/4 or above of the National Curriculum
the course can help prepare for progress on to the GCSE or Primer English course
at a later stage. However the course is also a general English course which
will assist them in other areas of their social and academic development. This
course is run at 3 levels.

Objectives
Course Structure
JULY - SC1 - 2 hours per week including individual and group
activities. Each week these activities develop and move the student forward
in a number of specific areas.
AUGUST - SC2 - 2 hours per week including individual and group
activities. Each week these activities develop and move the student forward
in a number of specific areas.
Course Dates & Times
SC1 - 4 weeks in July 4 - 2 hours a week for 4 weeks.
SC2 - 4 weeks in August 4 - 2 hours a week for 4 weeks.
