Our English course is offered as a dual award and comprises both English Language and English Literature. Components to be assessed will include Speaking & Listening, Reading and Writing. Coursework will account for 30% of the English Literature course and 40% of the English Language course (half of this is oral-based work). The remainder is examination-based.
The course is taught over 21 months for the dual award or 9 months for the single English Language GCSE. The course carefully prepares the students and gives them time for completion of coursework for both awards. Our highly experienced staff teach a range of texts and poetry which will help build a student's portfolio for assessment. The AQA Website contains syllabus information for these courses.
